# Rate Limits

> Request rate limit policies to prevent excessive usage.

Supertone API operates request rate limit policies to prevent excessive usage and ensure stable service operation.

## 1. Request Rate Limit Policy

### Voice Generation (Text-to-Speech & Stream Text-to-Speech)

Request limits are applied based on your current account tier:

| **Tier** | **Request Limit (Requests per Minute)** |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Free & Starter | 20 requests / minute |
| Creator | 30 requests / minute |
| Pro | 60 requests / minute |

### Registering a Cloned Voice as Customer Voice (Create cloned voice)

Request limits are applied based on your current account tier:

| **Tier** | **Request Limit (Requests per Minute)** |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Starter & Creator & Pro | 10 requests / minute |

## 2. When Limits Are Exceeded

If the number of requests exceeds the allowed rate, the API will return a **429 Too Many Requests** error.

Please wait a moment and try your request again.

In some cases, temporary throttling or blocking may be applied to prevent system overload.\
Note that actual behavior may vary depending on the situation, and some responses may be delayed or dropped without prior notice.

## 3. Need Higher Rate Limits?

If you need to make API requests more frequently, you can apply more flexible request rate limit policies through an **Enterprise Plan** or a separate contract.\
Rate limit conditions can be adjusted based on your operating environment and service characteristics.
